The River

The Coeur d’Alene River flows 37 miles from the Silver Valley into Lake Coeur d’Alene. The stream continues out of Lake Coeur d’Alene as the Spokane River. This section is known as the North Fork,  stretching almost to Lake Pend Oreille. The South Fork of the CDA River flows east from an area by the Montana border. Flowing through historic mining areas of the Silver Valley past numerous communities, it is a superb recreational river for numerous pursuits, from easy scenic floats to paddling and, particularly in upstream stretches, fly fishing!
